Ludvic Zrinzo MD PhD FRCS

Mr Zrinzo is Consultant and Senior Lecturer in Neurosurgery at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and the UCL Institute of Neurology, London. His subspecialty interest is central neuromodulation - in particular, Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS). Author of over 80 publications and book chapters, Mr Zrinzo was awarded a PhD in Neurosurgery for his work on the safety, accuracy and efficacy of MRI-verified DBS surgery. Current research interests include the application of advanced neuroimaging techniques and investigating novel anatomical targets and indications for DBS surgery.

The Unit of Functional Neurosurgery at the UCL Institute of Neurology was established by Prof Marwan Hariz (neurosurgeon) in 2002 and is committed to minimising surgical risk and improving clinical outcome in patients undergoing deep brain stimulation. Other Unit members include Dr Patricia Limousin and Dr Foltynie (neurologists), Prof Marjan Jahanshahi (Professor in Neuropsychology) and Dr Elina Tripoliti (Speech and Language therapy).
