Mrs. Hamm-Faber

For several years, Tanja Hamm has worked as a Nurse Practitioner involved in the treatment of chronic and oncological pain.
She began her career as an operating-room nurse in 1984. Following a study in oncological pain and a Masters Degree in Advanced Nursing Practice, she became the first nurse practitioner in the Netherlands to specialize in chronic pain.

In the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Sliedrecht, the Netherlands, she acts as co-ordinator in pain management and is also responsible for nurse training, education, research and development of pain therapies.
Besides her hospital work, she has other teaching duties including that of examiner in Nurse Practitioner studies at Leiden University.
On a national level she has, with the help of four other nurse practitioners, initiated an educational group for nurses working in the field of neuromodulation therapy.
