Course Description

These 2 day tutorials offer stereotactic neurosurgeons the opportunity to expand their knowledge in the application of DBS for the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease and Dystonia. The tutorials combine theoretical learning and hands-on experience.

Target Audience

Neurologists and Neurosurgeons treating Parkinson’s Disease and Dystonia patients and interested in the use of DBS for the treatment of these conditions (referrers or implanters).

Learning Objectives

At the end of this training participants will:
- Select and evaluate patients
- Use stereotactic surgery with special emphasis on dystonia
- Master techniques to evaluate correct targeting
- Position leads to maximize patient therapy benefit
- Implant and replace neurostimulator
- Program and troubleshoot neurostimulator with advanced settings
