Course Description

- How to set up and maintain an intrathecal therapy service
- Patients interaction
- Case presentations
- Covers all aspects of intrathecal therapy teams (pharmacy, nursing, surgeons, pain anesthetists) the setting up of the service

Target Audience

Multidisciplinary teams working with intrathecal therapy (spasticity or pain):
- Pain anesthesiologists and anesthetists
- Neurosurgeons
- Physiotherapy specialists
- Palliative care specialists
- Neurologists
- Movement disorders specialists
- Nursing staff

Learning Objectives

At the end of this training participants will:
- Set up and manage ITB service
- Select patient and perform psychological screening
- Prepare drugs
- Pump implant according to the latest surgical techniques
- Manage IT complications
- Troubleshoot and refill pumps
